The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Team
The Department of Education's People and Workplace Relations (Schools) division is looking for an integral member of our Client Engagement Unit. This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills and develop your career while having a positive impact on the running of the division. You will be working with a small team in the Client Engagement Unit to develop, plan and implement a range of process and assist with the daily operational needs of the office.
People and Workplace Relations (Schools) division provides school workforce supply and demand strategies and initiatives, supports the attraction and retention of teachers in Victorian government schools, provides high quality school HR and recruitment services, and provides policy and employee relations advice.
About the Role
This is an ongoing full-time VPS4 role and is located within the Client Engagement Unit of the People and Workplace Relations (Schools) division and reports to the Manager, Client Engagement.
The role of role of the Business Coordinator/Finance Officer is to provide comprehensive coordination, administrative support and financial guidance to the division's Executive Director and leadership team. This includes researching and distributing information and developing and implementing communications pertinent to the division's finances while actively supporting the leadership team with the management of budgets.
The role of the Business Coordinator/Finance Officer assists with the coordinates the development and operation of financial and administrative systems for the division in conjunction with the department's Financial Services Division. This role requires strong stakeholder relationships with Finance and Procurement Divisions to be developed and maintained, as well as strong interpersonal skills. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with financial obligations of the department and actively assisting the division's leadership group manage internal budgets.
In summary, the position provides a lead role in working with the division's leadership team in managing the division's budget in conjunction with the Financial Services Division and provides administrative support to the manager, Client Engagement Unit.
