In this position as Business Analyst, you will evaluate business needs, identify solutions, and assess the feasibility and impact of proposed changes. This capability encompasses understanding the business context, gathering and analysing requirements, and developing business cases to support strategic decision making and ensure successful implementation. Position accountabilities
The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support projects that improve departmental operations and customer outcomes. The role focuses on translating business needs into clear and actionable requirements, working closely with stakeholders to document and prioritise data, system and process requirements. Using tools such as Jira and Confluence, you will break down complex information into structured epics, features and user stories that enable effective delivery.
Success in this role relies on strong communication and the ability to produce concise documentation, including business process flows and system specifications that meet agreed standards. You will engage proactively with stakeholders across small to medium projects to ensure alignment on scope, functionality and expectations. You will apply sound negotiation and influencing skills to secure commitment from key stakeholders and support the adoption of recommended solutions. A collaborative mindset is essential, as the role contributes to multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams and fosters a culture of shared delivery, continuous improvement and collective accountability. • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in traditional project management and agile delivery. (mandatory)
