The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Taskforce (SSPRT) is delivering major reform to senior secondary students in all Victorian Government Schools. As part of this reform, the department is investing heavily in technology to support students and staff and reduce administrative burden in schools. SSPRT is committed to ensuring school and regional staff have both the tools and skills to deliver the reform.
About the Role
The Department of Education is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic team building a technology platform to enable wide reaching reforms in the delivery of senior secondary education in Victorian government schools. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver technology products that provide genuine value to school staff. This role works across technology, change management and program area teams to ensure delivery of a range of fit for purpose digital solutions. With the program of work in its second year of delivery, we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong technical skills, a structured approach, and a commitment to ensuring delivery of high-quality digital solutions. Clear communication and people skills as a must as the project is established as a partnership between the department's technology division and the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Taskforce. The role requires a breadth of skills, primarily, end-user focus as the Business Analyst supports the program area and end-users. Strong decision-making skills based on analysis of business value, user needs, technical feasibility and cost to prioritise backlog features and work closely with the scrum team to keep delivery on schedule. Collaborative working is essential, as is strong people skills to facilitate open communication and management of expectations. This role requires a detail-oriented person, with the ability to write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria with an understanding of both technical and operational constraints and dependencies. A proven track record of delivering Salesforce-based digital solutions in a complex public and private sector environments is desirable.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in technical/business support or change management
