Brunswick Secondary College is a co-educational Year 7-12 College. While its students are drawn from Brunswick , an overall enrolment of 1050 allows for some enrolment of students from outside this area. Modernisation of school facilities, completed in late 2018, allows for growth in enrolments over the next few years. The College has an International Student Program
The college offers a traditional discipline-based curriculum; complemented by a wide range of specialist subjects and enrichment programs. Its goal is to improve the achievement levels of individual students and specific cohorts through continuing to raise expectations and standards of learning. To ensure that all students have access to the same high standards of teaching, staff develop curriculum and assessment tasks in teams. A wide range of quality professional learning opportunities are offered on site and all teachers are involved in classroom observations connected to Performance Review.

The Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Manager at Brunswick Secondary College will undertake professional and personal development opportunities to enhance the position and will participate in an annual performance and development process.
The Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Manager is required to work flexibly and reliably within tight timelines and with minimal direction in a team environment.
It is important that the Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Manager operates in a professional, courteous, efficient manner at all times, respecting confidentiality.
The Buildings & Grounds Maintenance Manager supports the College leadership with the planning and implementation of building works, grounds projects and general maintenance and minor building services.
A position at this level provides specialised knowledge that is relied upon to deliver services, under direction. Application of specialised knowledge is confined to a specific functional area: for example: building and grounds maintenance, contract and contractor management and minor building maintenance works. The level has the ability to apply technical principles to enable the performance of a variety of inter-related technical tasks, and will undertake relevant occupational health and safety requirements, contractor inductions and, where necessary, risk assessments within the relative work area.
An employee in a position at this level performs and/or supervises activities that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy. This includes the supervision and coordination of students who are completing environmental duties. Such supervision would be limited to ensuring routine tasks are performed to the required standards.
