YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE
Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Researcher - Loi Laboratory
• 12-months fixed term, full time role
• 80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADOs

We seek a highly skilled Cancer Bioinformatician Researcher to drive innovation in breast cancer genomics. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinicians, researchers, data scientists) to design and deploy advanced bioinformatics pipelines for large-scale genomic data—focusing on cancer genomics, immunogenomics, and clinical outcomes.
This position is responsible for:
• Working closely with the research team to develop and implement bioinformatics algorithms and statistical models to analyse large-scale genomics, proteomics, and imaging data for cancer research.
• Conducting data pre-processing, normalisation, and hypothesis testing.
• Assisting in data analysis, visualization, and reporting of results.
• Presenting results to other members of the laboratory and broader research division.
This position is:
• Fixed term, full time
• Onsite presence essential at 305 Grattan Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000
• Basic Salary Range: $99,725.81 to $115,527.48 AUD p.a.

About you
We are looking for a candidate with technical expertise who can independently drive complex projects and contribute to high-impact breast cancer research with clinical relevance.
The ideal candidate will meet the following essential requirements:
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong track record in cancer bioinformatics, with a code repository demonstrating experience.
• Hands-on expertise in cancer multi-omics, including DNA/RNA bulk and single-cell technologies.
• Experience in risk modelling and/or clinical translation of genomic findings.
• Skilled in scalable pipeline development and working with high-performance computing clusters.
