Azure AI Specialist
The Role
The Azure AI Specialist will modernise business processes and digital services by designing, enhancing, and supporting PowerApps and other custom apps using Power platform and Azure services and building and supporting automated workflows, reducing reliance on manual and paper based processes while improving workflow efficiency, records management, audit readiness, and information security. They will enable flexible, resilient ways of working through secure use of Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, including SharePoint and Teams governance uplift, external sharing and access controls, data migration to cloud platforms, and training and knowledge sharing initiatives that support modern, collaborative, and hybrid work practices.
The Digital Workplace and Cloud Platforms team delivers and supports secure, modern digital services across DJSIR. We provide enduser and application support, manage and govern Microsoft 365 and Power Platform environments, and deliver data, automation and AI enabled solutions. The team focuses on improving reliability, security and usability of platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, Power Apps and Copilot, while partnering closely with business areas to streamline processes, reduce manual effort and enable data driven decision-making.

The Team
The position of Azure AI Specialist forms part of the Information Technology & Workplace Services branch, which sits within the Corporate Services group.
The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management. These functions enable the department to operate efficiently and effectively and support the Secretary and Ministers to meet legislative obligations and responsibilities whilst actively supporting the department's portfolio groups and Ministers to create the conditions for growing Victoria's prosperity, building the productive capacity of our economy, and increasing participation. The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.
