About this position
The Associate Director M&R Delivery and Asset Assurance is responsible for oversight and management of the maintenance and renewal and asset assurance of infrastructure assets associated with the Franchise Operators obligations under the Metro Train Franchise Agreement.
The role leads the M&R Delivery and Asset Assurance team providing subject matter expert oversight of the performance of the infrastructure obligations of the metropolitan train operator, including the Associate Director M&R Delivery and Asset Assurance monitoring of asset reliability, review and recommendation of M&R plans and the assurance of the delivery of these M&R activities as part of the overall DTP asset management lifecycle.
- Contract Compliance – lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure contractual compliance including the timely resolution of commercial or contractual matters that may arise, operating in a sensitive, complex, demanding and high-risk environment. Overseeing contractor deliverables, including validation of performance measures and compliance reporting.
- Planning and Delivery – Support the establishment of a technical assurance framework, collaboratively within DTP and with operators, that has supported a continuous improvement of the network.
- Authoritative Advice – high-quality, authoritative strategic and operational advice provided to Executive Director and executive leadership to support transport portfolio objectives and respond to emerging and/or complex issues.
- Stakeholder Management – key internal and external stakeholders have been effectually engaged and collaborative partnerships led across the government and with operators.
- Leadership – provide effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.

Qualifications and role specific requirements
– Tertiary degree in engineering, business, commerce or law or other relevant qualification.
– Experience in the commercial management of high risk, high value commercial contracts.
– A strong understanding of the principles of asset management and assurance.
– An understanding of the public transport environment would be highly advantageous.
