Hazel Glen College is located within the City of Whittlesea, one of Melbourne¿s fastest¿growing municipalities, and plays an active and integral role in the ongoing development of the Doreen community hub.
The College opened its doors at the beginning of 2014 with 143 students and 14 staff. Enrolment growth was rapid in the first 7 years and has now levelled, with the College now supporting a student population of approximately 2,200 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with approximately 250 staff.
In 2025, Hazel Glen College transitioned to a Kindergarten, Primary (P-6) and Secondary (7-12) model, strengthening its commitment to a seamless and comprehensive K-12 educational pathway. A Child and Family Centre, co-located on the school site, further enhances this model. The Centre includes kindergarten, extended day care, playgroups, early intervention services, a maternal and child health centre, and a range of allied community services, creating a dynamic and innovative early childhood education precinct.

Outstanding capacity for leadership required for a K-12 educational precinct, together with experience in inspiring a learning environment focussed on high quality learning outcomes, wellbeing and engagement and ability in forming partnerships with community and relevant local agencies.
The assistant principal reports directly to the principal.
Assistant principals have a primary responsibility for the management of significant areas or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program. In exercising the responsibility, assistant principals will have the authority to make all significant decisions relating to the program, budget and staff relating to their area of designated responsibility within the framework of the school's strategic plan, policies and budget. Assistant principals will contribute to the overall management of the school through involvement in policy formulation and decision making.
The management of significant school program or functional areas in schools involve assistant principals in the analysis of the needs of students and the translation of state educational policy and frameworks into appropriate education programs to meet the needs of all students.
Typically assistant principals will be responsible for the effective use of the teaching staff and program budget of a defined area of the school's operation and for the oversight and leadership of the educational programs provided utilising these resources.
Typically, assistant principals perform one or more of the following functions:
