BNPS is an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, delivering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) since 2010. This globally recognised framework underpins the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, offering an evidence-based approach that fosters the development of the whole child and promotes international-mindedness. BNPS is continuing to roll out the VTLM 2.0, which includes the incorporation of explicit instruction to complement the PYP approach.
Leadership at BNPS requires a strong commitment to the tenants of FISO 2.0, and a promise to maximise the learning and wellbeing of every child, every day. The school is committed to providing an inclusive and safe learning environment, placing a strong emphasis on student wellbeing. We welcome allied health professionals onsite to support students' needs. A dynamic music program offering group and private instrumental lessons complements a broad specialist curriculum that includes Art, Music, Japanese, Science, Health and Physical Education. Tailored support and extension programs, such as MiniLit, GRIN, BEET, VHAP, and Robotics, ensure that students of all abilities are challenged and supported.
BNPS completed its 5-yearly IB PYP implementation review in 2024, and it is in the first year of its latest strategic plan. The school presents opportunities to consolidate our student outcomes and growth through dynamic and inclusive leadership.
The school grounds are thoughtfully designed featuring landscaped and artistic elements that enhance play, recreation, and learning. Community engagement is central to school life, with an active Parents and Friends Association, biannual school fetes, alumni programs, and regular parent events. Onsite amenities include a uniform shop and canteen, with proceeds reinvested into school programs, as well as a 5-star rated before and after school care service.
BNPS is committed to cultivating strong, collaborative partnerships among students, staff, and families. These relationships underpin a school culture defined by the core values of Care, Empathy, Respect, Responsibility, and Trust.
