The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

The Schools Workforce Group (SWG) has a lead responsibility to support the attraction and retention of teachers in Victorian government schools, provide high-quality schools HR operations, and provide policy and employee relations advice.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to support the manager of the Schools Recruitment unit in delivering HR outcomes via the effective development of HR practices and implementation of complex HR projects. This role assists in leading HR projects, staff development, ensuring continual customer focus and maintaining key stakeholder relationships across the Department.
As an Assistant Manager/Senior Project Officer, you will assist in leading the delivery of a range of HR projects, provide support to a designated client base and be relied on for the strategic human resources consultancy. You will also provide guidance to team members and clients on a broad range of generalist human resources matters.

Your ability to establish and maintain productive and consultative relationships will be critical as will the ability to deliver outcomes and drive change in a complex environment.
