Schools Human Resources Division is responsible for providing quality employee services and human resources to support school-based and regional staff in best practice and delivering on workforce strategies and initiatives to support the attraction and retention of teachers and school workforce staff in Victorian government schools.

The Assistant Manager leads the effective service delivery of HR and payroll services, systems, and processes. The role is responsible for leading a team of HR specialists and consultants to ensure the consistent application and continuous improvement of specialist HR and payroll operational knowledge, services and advice. Furthermore, the role is pivotal in providing people and technical leadership and technical expertise as well as championing the culture of service excellence, collaboration and professional growth across the unit and the broader Schools HR and Operations branch.

The incumbent will optimise procedures and collaborate cross-functionally to enable the delivery of high-quality HR and payroll solutions and services. The incumbent provides people and technical leadership and aligns work with operational plans and departmental values through effective mentoring, role modelling and capability development.
