About the RoleThe Assistant Manager leads the optimisation service delivery and enhances the customer experience in the effective service delivery of HR and payroll services, systems, and processes. The incumbent will be instrumental in leading and shaping service delivery strategies, aligning with strategic goals, and driving continuous improvement in the services provided. The incumbent provides leadership and expert guidance and direction, fostering a culture of high performance through collaborative efforts and the resolution of complex payroll issues. The role is responsible for leading a team of HR specialists and consultants to ensure the consistent application and continuous improvement of specialist HR and payroll operational knowledge, services and advice.
Furthermore, the role is pivotal in providing people and technical leadership and technical expertise as well as championing the culture of service excellence, collaboration and professional growth across the unit and the broader People Services (Schools) branch.

The position is located in the East Melbourne office and there is a hybrid working model available.
