About the Role
Operating in a fast-paced, customer-focused workforce initiatives team, the Assistant Manager (Senior HR Advisor) will work closely with the Business Partners/Project Officers to coordinate and deliver workforce initiatives and workforce support services to build teacher supply to Victorian government schools.
We are looking for high performing professional who thrive on working as part of a team and taking initiative to lead and drive the delivery of recruitment strategies and provide sound advice to stakeholders and ensure a high level of candidate and client care.
This role provides the opportunity to coordinate the implementation of strategic workforce initiatives while providing high-quality customer service and client support to schools and the teaching service. By maintaining strong collaborative stakeholder relationships and engaging with schools and teachers, you'll have the opportunity to apply your creativity and passion for service to help grow the teacher pipeline in Victoria's government schools.
This role is responsible for optimising the teams' skills to support strategic decision making and enhance people management for workforce planning.
Key to your success in this role will be creating a positive environment, leading by example to drive a culture of excellence in customer service through the delivery of expert, efficient and contemporary HR advice as well as tailored workforce support solutions.
About the Division and Branch
The People and Workplace Relations (Schools) Division implements strategic workforce initiatives, provides human resource services and strategic human resource policy advice in areas of school employee relations, payroll, recruitment and provision of HR data to assist in the building of a high-quality and diverse workforce. Recruitment, payroll and reporting support is also provided to external clients.
The Schools Workforce Initiatives and Support (SWIS) branch leads a suite of statewide programs to grow and sustain teacher supply across Victoria. Partnering with schools, regions and central stakeholders to deliver end-to-end workforce support, from vacancy management and targeted assistance for hard-to-staff schools, through to graduate attraction, teacher re-engagement and return-to-work pathways, international recruitment support, and flexible workforce solutions. Our work focuses on practical, scalable approaches that strengthen the teacher's pipeline and respond to workforce need across the system.
About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services, policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
