THE ROLE
The Assistant Manager, Financial Accounting and Reporting is second in charge to the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager. The role assists with the management of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Unit, including its staff and deliverables. The main deliverables include the preparation the Department's annual statutory reporting, including managing the Victorian auditor General's office requirements; monthly analysis and reporting of the portfolio's financial results to the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) and a number of other activities including:
• the financial viability analysis of funded organisations;
• assisting with the department's taxation obligations;
• chart of account management; and
• providing financial accounting and reporting technical advice to program managers and the Department's Executive.
