About the Business Unit:
Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex is a medium security facility that houses a mix of sentenced and remand men and is located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from the centre of Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne. The role of the facility is to contain men in custody safely, securely and humanely, focusing on the individual needs of the men with the aim of providing a successful transition back into the community or on their continued journey through the prison system. The facility has a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes and provides a range of engaged services. Our highly skilled workforce provides supervision and case management and are dedicated to enhancing opportunities to strengthen prisoner pathways.
About the Role:
The Assessment and Transition Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the prison complies with requirements as outlined within the prison's Service Delivery Outcomes and other relevant policies.
Some of your duties will include:
- Participating in the development, coordination and delivery of prisoner risk and needs assessments, parole applications and pre-release services within a prison location
- Contributing to the Case Management Review process
- Coordinating and facilitating delivery of sessions and services, both individually and in conjunction with service delivery providers, including co-facilitation with stakeholders and partners.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners
- Demonstrated ability to administer risk assessment tools with individual prisoners
- Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with clients who are difficult to engage individually and in group work settings
- Computer program skills, such as, excel for data management
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience in and/or understanding of working within a correctional environment.
