We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced researcher to coordinate and provide technical expertise for an ARC-funded research project in Herpetology (0.40 FTE) for six months.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Museums Victoria's Sciences Department is a leader in biodiversity research. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced researcher to coordinate and provide technical expertise for a six-month, ARC-funded research project in Herpetology (0.40 FTE).
In this role, you will coordinate and undertake high-quality biological research. Research findings will be published in peer-reviewed international journals and shared through academic and public lectures, science communication initiatives, the Museum's public programs, and potentially incorporated into exhibitions.
The primary focus of the position is to coordinate and conduct research on the impacts of Quaternary climate change on past reptile and frog communities across a 3000 km latitudinal gradient, from the Australian tropics to the temperate south. The role involves working with palaeontology collections and providing technical research expertise in 3D imaging and geometric morphometric analyses, including training students and other researchers. You will also coordinate research activities across multiple venues and team members.
You will bring significant expertise in micro-CT scanning of reptiles (both fossil and extant) and experience in geometric morphometric analyses of 3D imagery. You will also have experience coordinating research projects and training students. Please refer to the attached position description for full selection criteria.

This role is a Part time 0.40 FTE fixed term position 6 months. The salary on offer is VPS 4.1 base of grade- $97,955 pro-rata per annum + 12% Superannuation.
