About the role:
The Analyst will be a key member of the Investment and Commissioning branch in the Finance, Budget and Infrastructure Division. The Policy Analyst provides high quality research and analysis to support review and reform of health services funding arrangements across the health sector, with a focus on funding provided to community service organisations.
In particular, the role is responsible for:
•Applying policy concepts and tools and sound logic to support development of high-level strategic, policy, budget and funding advice on a range of complex health issues to executives, central agencies, and Ministers
•Using communication, negotiation and influencing skills to consult and liaise with key stakeholders, including negotiating with stakeholders that have competing interests and diverse perspectives, to support the resolution of complex health sector funding policy issues
•Using strong analytical skills to present thoroughly researched and pragmatic solutions to complex stakeholder needs, especially in relation to government funding.
•Working effectively as a member of a team and enjoy working flexibly across a variety of issues and priorities.
•Demonstrating initiative and contributing effectively to the team's strategic business planning and decision-making process to ensure a cohesive and collegiate approach to achieving team, divisional and departmental objectives.
