The Role
The Analyst position within the Trade and Investment Strategy and Delivery team provides analytical and strategic support to help identify, attract and facilitate trade and investment opportunities across Victoria's priority sectors. The role focuses on analysing economic and investment environments, generating insights, and supporting the development of investment attraction products and services.
You will contribute to research and analysis of investment-related issues, support the development of investment collateral and briefing materials, and collaborate with stakeholders across the Industry, Trade and Investment Group. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to translate complex information into clear insights, and a collaborative approach to supporting strategic investment initiatives.

The Team
The position of Analyst forms part of the Industry, Trade and Investment Services Branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.
The Industry, Trade and Investment Group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. The group promotes Victoria as a destination of choice for trade and international investment and supports priority sectors, innovation and global market opportunities.
The Industry, Trade and Investment Services Branch supports the delivery of trade, investment and industry development activities across the department.
About You
You will use your strong collaborative skills to build supportive working relationships, engage across teams and share information to respond to complex issues. You will also apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyse investment and economic issues, identify information gaps and develop evidence-based insights.
In addition, you will demonstrate the ability to influence stakeholders by tailoring communication to different audiences and linking ideas to broader strategic priorities.
