Selection Criteria
SC1. Demonstrated leadership capacity to coordinate and strengthen allied health services across Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels of support, ensuring services are responsive to student needs and aligned with whole-school priorities, inclusion practices and the School Strategic Plan.
SC2. Demonstrated ability to build strong, professional and respectful relationships with students, families, staff and external professionals, leading the allied health team to work collaboratively with the broader school community to create safe, kind and respectful learning environments where all children can thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
SC3. Demonstrated capacity to provide strategic leadership within a school setting, working collaboratively under the direction of the Deputy Principal and contributing to whole-school wellbeing, inclusion and improvement priorities. This includes maintaining a strong and visible presence across the school and ensuring allied health practice is integrated into teaching, learning, wellbeing and inclusion.
SC4.Demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing allied health team, establishing consistent processes, clear expectations and effective communication across Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Speech Pathology services, while promoting professional learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
SC5.Demonstrated ability to use data, documentation and professional knowledge to inform decision-making, while maintaining high standards of confidentiality, compliance and professional practice in the management of student and allied health information.
Will usually be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
A school or group of schools would need to have the necessary diversity and complexity to create a role at range 5. Management of a major school or district initiative, project or Department targeted strategy would be an indicator depending on the breadth of management responsibilities.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
The Allied Health Leader role is a senior leadership position focused on leading and strengthening allied health services across the school, with a strong emphasis on student learning, engagement, wellbeing and inclusion. The Allied Health Leader will lead a multidisciplinary allied health team comprising Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Speech Pathologists, working collaboratively to provide coordinated and responsive support for students and staff. This role provides high-level allied health leadership across the school, ensuring consistency, high expectations and strong outcomes for all students. The Allied Health Leader will work under the direction of the Deputy Principal and will coordinate Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 allied health involvement across the school. Key responsibilities include:
