Role description
The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) - Podiatry Foot Care Assistant is responsible for performing work delegated by and under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional (AHP). The AHA will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapies prescribed by the relevant AHP, other therapeutic activities, and recreationally focused programs as required. The AHA will primarily deliver delegated work to clients accessing the Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, and Lymphoedema programs. These delegated responsibilities may involve trialling and providing equipment, applying lymphoedema therapy and basic podiatric foot care (as qualified). Administrative support, including but not limited to equipment ordering and liaising with suppliers and builders, will also be integral to this role.
This role is primarily based at the Dhelkaya Health Castlemaine site, but the AHA may be required to work at other organisational sites, community-based facilities, or in clients' homes as directed. Other work areas may be delegated to the AHA as required, and these may include acute/subacute units, the Transition Care Program, home-based services, residential aged care, and other Ambulatory Care community-based programs.
