Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health care provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.
We currently have vacancy for a skilled Grade 2 or Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our workforce. Our AHAs work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary model across the inpatient and community settings at NHW to support Allied Health Professionals in delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions, in line with the AHA Supervision and Delegation Framework.
This position will provide the successful applicant with opportunities for a variety of experiences across the admitted and community settings, with planned rotations across services to support skill development, working alongside and learning from highly skilled health professionals.
The successful applicant will demonstrate teamwork and an appreciation of multidisciplinary practice, the ability to work independently within the AHA scope of practice, and the ability to seek advice and support where required. Opportunities for on-the-job competencies in specialist areas such as Videofluoroscopy Swallow Study, and Basic Foot Care will be provided to the right applicants.
A Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant Qualification is required, along with demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in the provision of AHA duties. This is an excellent opportunity for an AHA who is seeking opportunities to enhance their clinical skills, whilst working within a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary service.
