St Albans East Primary School caters for a culturally diverse student population and is located in a well-established residential area of St Albans in the City of Brimbank. Currently we have an enrolment of 390 students. The school currently comprises of 18 classes; the average number of students per class is 22 across the school. The school has a combination of straight and composite classrooms. The SFO (Student Family Occupation) is 0.75 and LBOTE 84%.
St Albans East Primary School hosts the Primary Deaf Facility in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne that caters for the specific learning needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. There are currently 4 students enrolled. The current staffing profile comprises of two Teachers of the Deaf and an Auslan interpreter. To support our Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, we teach Auslan as the Language other than English.
The school offers a comprehensive curriculum program based on Victorian Curriculum and has been focusing on the High Impact Teaching Strategies. In addition to this we offer the following specialist programs ¿ Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education, STEM, LOTE (Auslan) and Literacy Support (Fountas & Pinnell Levelled Literacy Intervention). We have a strong commitment to the teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy and this will remain a priority for the school.
