The Allied Health assistant (AHA) supports the delivery of allied health therapy services within a specialist school environment. Working under the delegation and supervision of qualified allied health professionals, the AHA assists with implementing therapy programs, preparing resources, supporting classroom integration of therapy strategies, and promoting student participation, communication, independence and well-being.
The allied health assistant works collaboratively with teachers, education support staff and allied health therapists to support positive outcomes for students with diverse learning and developmental needs.

The East Gippsland Specialist School was built in 2003. It now has 112 students and 60 staff with state of the art facilities, extensive IT resources and specialist sensory resources.
