At Parks Victoria, we're passionate about connecting people with nature and protecting some of Victoria's most treasured landscapes. We're seeking an experienced operational professional to support and, at times, lead the safe delivery of statewide aerial land management operations.
Reporting to the Fire, Emergency and Aerial Land Management Coordinator, you will provide operational, technical and coordination support for Parks Victoria's aerial land management programs.
You will support and, at times, lead the planning and delivery of statewide aerial operations, including aerial shooting programs. This will involve coordinating people, aircraft, contractors, equipment and operational resources while ensuring activities are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with relevant aviation, firearms, risk and governance requirements.
Acting as the designated Operations Officer you will contribute to operational planning, risk management, resource allocation and field delivery. You will also help develop and improve operational procedures, reporting systems and practices that support safe and effective program delivery.Working closely with regional teams, contractors and partner agencies, you will build strong relationships and provide practical operational and technical advice. Your work will support park management, environmental protection, land restoration, wildlife management and conservation activities across Victoria.This position requires travel throughout Victoria, including overnight and multi-day travel. The role may also involve working in remote locations, driving long distances and travelling on unsealed roads.
You are an experienced operational professional with strong planning, coordination and stakeholder-management skills. You bring experience from aerial operations, emergency management, conservation, biosecurity, wildlife management, natural resource management or a related field. You are confident coordinating people, aircraft, contractors and operational resources in complex and dynamic environments. With sound knowledge of risk, safety and governance requirements, you demonstrate strong judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement. Your communication and relationship-building skills allow you to work collaboratively across government agencies, regional teams, contractors and operational environments. You can manage competing priorities, analyse complex information and provide practical recommendations that support effective program delivery.
