What you will be doing
Reporting directly to the Principal Advisor, Information Protection, this of the VEC's information protection and privacy program in the lead up to, during and following the 2026 State Election. Working within the Information and Knowledge Management team, you will apply legislation and policy to support compliance, manage sensitive information matters and contribute to key projects that ensure the secure handling and release of information across the organisation.
This role will be responsible for:
• Supporting the Information and Knowledge Management State Election 2026 work program.
• Responding to privacy queries, complaints and incidents, applying relevant legislation and policy.
• Providing advice and conducting privacy and risk assessments.
• Managing FOI and information sharing requests in line with legislation.
• Driving key projects in privacy, information protection and data sharing.
• Contributing to the VEC's information release, FOI, privacy incident and privacy advice registers and progress recommendations.
What you will bring to the role
• Qualifications or equivalent experience in information privacy, data protection, information release or related areas.
• Ability to apply understanding of legislation to provide advice to stakeholders in the Information Protection domain.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• A creative approach to problem solving.
