The Role
The international education sector is Victoria's largest services export, generating significant economic value for the state. This role will use policy and analytical skills, with creativity, to work with the sector and provide advice to government on how to maximise economic value for Victoria and ensure the state remains Australia's destination of choice for international students. The role researches, develops and evaluates policy, analyses issues, develops evidence-based recommendations and collaborates with stakeholders to support effective policy outcomes.

The Team
The position of Adviser, Strategy and Insights, International Education & Study Melbourne forms part of the Trade, Global Engagement, International Education and Migration Branch within the Industry, Trade, and Investment (ITI) Group.
The Industry, Trade, and Investment Group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. The Group champions Victoria as a destination of choice for trade and international investment, international education and innovation.
The Trade, Global Engagement, International Education and Migration Branch connects Victoria to global opportunities by building export capability, connecting Victorians to global trade opportunities, promoting Victoria's industry capabilities internationally, attracting and retaining global talent, and advocating for policy settings that support Victoria's global competitiveness.
About You
You are flexible and adaptable, able to respond quickly to changing priorities and collaborate effectively with teams across the organisation. You build supportive and cooperative working relationships, engage others to share information and support colleagues in challenging situations. You also have the ability to interpret and apply relevant policies, draft policies and business cases using research skills, and consult with stakeholders to develop effective policy responses.
A tertiary qualification in public policy, economics or another relevant field, and knowledge of or experience in the international education sector, are desired.
