THE ROLE
The Refugee Minor Program (RMP) is responsible for providing case management, supervision and support to young people from refugee backgrounds who are in Australia without parents. The Refugee Minor Program is a statewide service provided across Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria. The Stronger Futures for Refugee Youth (SFRY) program supports young people between 16- 21 years of age who are transitioning from the RMP'S case management program.
The SFRY Advanced Case Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining referral pathways and partnerships with community service organisations. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders in the youth services sector to ensure that young people from refugee backgrounds have access to the necessary resources and supports required to achieve their developmental potential and become confident young adults. Using an Advantage Thinking framework, you will support young people with developing skills, confidence and connections to community that will support their independence.
The RMP is a statewide service within Commonwealth Operations and Statewide Children and Families Operations. The successful candidate will be required to work across both office locations- Dandenong and Sunshine and provide support to young people residing in regional locations.
