About Us:
The Security and Intelligence Division is responsible for the acquittal of several key strategic functions within Corrections Victoria including Security Risk Management, Electronic Monitoring, Correctional Emergency Response, and Emergency Management including exercising plans and contingencies, and Intelligence.
The Security Standards Unit (SSU) is responsible for several of these strategic functions focused on Security Risk Management, Physical Security, Annual Procedural Security Reviews, Schematic Plans, and State-Wide Locksmith Services and maintaining a range of policy documents. The SSU is responsible for monitoring the minimum-security requirements for all prisons and secure locations on an annual basis, as well as ensuring that the standards are reviewed regularly. The unit also provides assistance, advice and support to Corrections Victoria relating to Security, Security Risk Management, Fire Response and Emerging Technology.
About the Role:
The Administration Support Officer reports to the Project Manager, SSU and supports the unit in the delivery of ongoing and ad-hoc projects including complex programs of work. The role provides finance, procurement, and administrative functions related to a range of operational and strategic functions of the SSU. The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to be well organised and deliver work within strict timeframes, along with the ability to liaise with staff and key stakeholders within and external to Corrections Victoria.
The role is primarily based at the State-wide Services Building, Western Plains Correctional Centre, although some state-wide travel and overnight stays may be required. The role may be required to work in Metropolitan Melbourne, whilst there may also be some opportunity to work from home in accordance with Victorian Public Service guidelines.
