The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Role
Full-time, fixed term role in the Department of Education Ballarat Regional Office until 11 Oct 2026.
The purpose of the role is to provide administrative services to the Area and staff. The Administration Support Officer, under the direction of the Executive Director, Area, will work closely with the Administration Officer and the School Improvement Project Support Officer to ensure required supports are provided across the Area.
The role is critical to the effective operations of the Department. The role involves periods of sustained independent work, as well as frequent and varied contact with members of the Department and community. The role demands flexibility and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and supportive way with other staff. The officer will demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and initiative in the performance of their tasks.
