The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Division in the Department of Education and Training.
The Division was established to lead a generational reform agenda in response to the 2020 Review into Vocational and Applied Learning Pathways in Senior Secondary Schooling (The Firth Recommendations]. These reforms will collectively support all Victorian secondary students to pursue high-quality and valued vocational pathways aligned to their strengths and interests and to finish schooling with the skills and capabilities they need for success in further education, training, work, and life.
The Senior Secondary Pathways Reform agenda is a high priority for the government. The Division reports to the Executive Director, Senior Secondary Pathways Reform and engages regularly with the Minister for Education and critical education, training, industry and community stakeholders.
About the Role
The Administration Advisor position, is a new role created to support the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform with a range or Corporate Support tasks, predominately in the Finance and Administration areas.
Working with the Operations Manager and Finance Manager, this role will support the financial and administrative performance of the Division, which includes analysing budget versus actual, performing payables, receivables, accruals, transactional and budget journals, prepayments, responding to audit queries, budget and reporting requirements, staffing profiles, maintaining organisational charts, and the preparation of performance and adhoc reports within strict timelines on behalf of the Division.
The role will further provide support which includes raising requisitions and purchase orders, verifications and payments of invoices, generating and analysing financial reports as well as working with Victorian Common Funding Agreements, grants and other contracts. In addition, the role will be arranging access and delegations relating to financial systems.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Qualification and/or experience in Finance or Administration in a government environment is preferable
