About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Strategy, Policy and Nation Reform division is responsible for providing strategic advice on all major school education strategy and policy, regulation, school and early childhood national reforms and negotiation of school and early childhood national funding agreements.
About the Role
The Administration Advisor plays a critical role in supporting the operational and strategic effectiveness of the Department of Education's Strategy, Policy and National Reform Division. Working closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership team, you will provide high-quality executive, business and administrative support that enables the division to deliver on key education policy, strategy and intergovernmental reform priorities.
As a trusted coordination point across the division, you will manage a broad range of business functions, including executive support, governance and secretariat services, briefing and parliamentary processes, records management, and people and workforce administration. You will ensure business activities are delivered efficiently, accurately and to a high standard while supporting the smooth operation of the Executive Director's office.
Success in this role requires exceptional organisational skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach to managing competing priorities. You will work closely with colleagues across the division and a network of executive assistance and administrative professionals, fostering strong relationships and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing culture.
The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen governance practices and embed future-focused ways of working that support organisational change and business effectiveness.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
A diploma of Business Administration or experience as an executive assistant or similar is desirable.
