Somers School Camp is a short stay residential school specializing in outdoor learning for grade 5 and 6 students from throughout Victoria. The Somers Program runs from Tuesday until the following Wednesday for nine consecutive days with a five-day break between programs. Ideally the successful applicant will be available to work over some weekends.
Somers School Camp is a dual campus school. This position will be located at our Somers Campus on Westernport Bay about five kilometres past Hastings.
The administrative assistants will primarily be engaged in the organisation of programs, they will liaise with a range of stakeholders including business managers, school principals, parents and teachers. Tasks will include the organisation of program dates, administration of enrolments, student information, medical forms and passing on information to our school leadership team and school contacts.
While the main priority for this role will be program administration there will be some work supporting our Business Manager and Teachers.
The successful applicant will work closely with our Campus Principal, Business Manager and School Principal and will need to be skilled in prioritising tasks, swapping between jobs and communicating with a range of people.
Experience using Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook as well as data entry skills and the use of Google are essential. We are looking for a capable person who can work autonomously, manage their time and work in a friendly, fast paced and dynamic environment. There will be assistance available during the induction phase to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
