Mickleham Secondary College opened in January 2023 and is in Mickleham, approximately 39 kilometers north of Melbourne.
Mickleham Secondary College is in the new Merrifield's residential estate on an expansive 20-acre site, with modern landscaping and situated next door to the newly opened Merrifield Recreation Reserve. Our school is surrounded by an engaged, vibrant, supportive community. We currently have around 700 students in Years 7 to 9. The school began with 120 Year 7 students and grows annually with a new Year 7 intake. With the first building phase complete, our campus can accommodate up to 800 students.
Phase 2 building funding has been announced and will allow the school to accommodate 1200 students with an added learning neighbourhood building and visual arts building.

KSC1 Demonstrated experience in financial administration and accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and accurate record-keeping within a school or similar environment.
KSC2 Strong knowledge of financial systems, policies, and procedures, with experience using programs such as CASES21, Microsoft Office, and other relevant accounting software.
KSC3 High-level attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain compliance with departmental and school financial regulations.
KSC4 Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, suppliers, community users, and external stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
KSC5 Proven capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a finance team, exercising sound judgement, initiative, and discretion when managing confidential financial information.
An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level (noting that Registered Nurse is not included at this level, the first level for which is Level 1 range 3).
A role at this range may include:
An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialised student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.
¿ Process supplier invoices into Cases21 in a timely and accurate manner.
¿ Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
¿ Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
¿ Respond to supplier inquiries and liaise with internal departments to resolve issues.
¿ Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes as required.
¿ Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and College procedures.
¿ Assist the Office Manager with finance end-of-month processing and reporting.
¿ Support the Office Manager with finance subcommittee reporting, presentations, and minutes.
¿ Liaise with the Office Manager regarding additional general finance tasks as required.
¿ Process staff reimbursements.
¿ Provide support during the absence of other finance staff, including family finance and general finance duties.
¿ Process Sundry Debtor invoices for community hire groups.
¿ In conjunction with the Business Manager, prepare and maintain hire agreements for community user groups.
