The Role
The Speech Pathologist will work as part of Balambalam Primary School's broader Inclusion and Wellbeing Team to support students to communicate, participate and engage successfully in learning and school life.
As a Supported Inclusion School, Balambalam Primary School is committed to ensuring students receive the level of support they need while remaining connected to high expectations, quality teaching, their peers and their classroom community.
The Speech Pathologist will contribute specialist knowledge and expertise to our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), working across universal, targeted and intensive levels of support according to identified student need.

Balambalam Primary School is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join our team in 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a young and growing Supported Inclusion school and contribute to the continued development of inclusive practice across our school. We are looking for an experienced, relational and collaborative Speech Pathologist who is passionate about ensuring every student is known, supported and able to experience success.
The Speech Pathologist will provide specialist expertise in speech, language and communication, working alongside teachers, education support staff, school leaders, families and other allied health professionals to support student learning, participation, engagement and independence.
The successful applicant will contribute to our developing Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), providing targeted support for students at Tier 2 and Tier 3 while also strengthening inclusive Tier 1 classroom practice. A key part of the role will be supporting staff to understand students¿ communication needs and ensuring practical, evidence-informed strategies and recommendations are embedded within everyday teaching and learning.
At Balambalam, inclusion is not the responsibility of one person or one team. Our Speech Pathologist will work collaboratively across the school, building the capability of staff and helping to create learning environments where communication is accessible and all students can participate successfully.

About Balambalam Primary School
In 2027, we are no longer beginning from a blank page. We are building on the foundations established during our first year.

Inclusion is not a separate program at Balambalam. It is part of the way we teach, collaborate, design learning environments and build relationships.
Our aim is to create a school where students receive the level of support they need while remaining connected to high expectations, quality teaching, their peers and their classroom community.
The Speech Pathologist will play an important role in bringing this vision to life, using specialist knowledge of speech, language and communication to identify barriers to participation and support students to access learning successfully.
Working collaboratively with staff, families and other professionals, the Speech Pathologist will help ensure assessment findings and recommendations translate into practical strategies within classrooms. The role will also contribute to building staff capability so that communication supports are understood, implemented consistently and become part of everyday inclusive practice across the school.
