About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an appropriately skilled Senior Registrar/Advanced Trainee (Level 5/6 equivalent) or junior consultant (FRANZCOG or equivalent) to join the dynamic multidisciplinary MFM Unit at Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s at Sunshine Hospital. The JKWC MFM unit provides maternity care for the most complex patients including the full range of fetal and maternal medical disorders.
This 12-month, full time position will provide inpatient and outpatient services within the unit. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to combine ultrasound scanning with patient consultation in a range of different high-risk settings including multiple pregnancies, fetal medicine, maternal medicine and postnatal and pre-pregnancy counselling.
The unit is accredited by RANZCOG to support Maternal Fetal Medicine training and is supported by an established Genetics, Fetal cardiology and Neonatology service with a Level 6A nursery supported by full time Neonatologists on site. The JKWC MFM Unit actively participates in a range of national and international multicentre trials and has ample research opportunities to support the training and career ambitions of an MFM fellow.
