The Geriatric Medicine Department is a highly respected, innovative and rapidly expanding service with 30 Consultant Geriatricians and a comprehensive footprint across acute, subacute, community, specialty clinics and emergency care. Western Health is a major partner in the Western Training Alliance of the Victorian Geriatric Medicine Training Program (VGMTP), alongside Melbourne Health, Barwon Health and Mercy Health.

Brief outline of RTP position:
The position is comprised of three 1-year contracts with contracting and supervision remaining the sole responsibility of the health service employing the trainee during that specific year.
There is a single combined recruitment process for each position, but employment is subject to satisfactory performance in the previous training year. This position is not part of the PMCV match and is allocated prior to the PMCV match.
