About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated doctor interested in a career in endocrinology & diabetes. You will work with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team at Western Health. A significant component of the position involves clinical research based at Sunshine Hospital in the Endocrinology & Diabetes Unit. Additionally, attendance at four endocrinology outpatient clinics a week (diabetes, metabolic bone, endocrinology, nephrology/endocrinology) and for approximately 10 weeks a year the successful applicant will backfill the clinical work of the Footscray Hospital and Sunshine Hospital endocrinology registrars when they are on leave. The successful applicant will join the after-hours on-call Endocrinology Registrar roster (one in four).
The position has accreditation as a core year in Endocrinology specialist training, and applicants must have passed the clinical FRACP examination and completed at least one year of Advanced Training. The position is designed to be a foundational year for Higher Degree Research, and a preference will be made for applicants with research interests in the field of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disorders.
