About the role
The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department currently employs ten Consultant Plastic Surgeons, six registrars, one HMO3 and one intern.
Operating lists are scheduled every weekday, including excellent trauma list access. With over 3000 surgical cases per year the department offers a great variety of procedures including skin cancer surgery, head and neck reconstruction, breast reconstruction, elective hand surgery as well as many trauma cases. There is excellent consultant supervision, with many teaching opportunities available.
Outpatient clinics are scheduled four days a week. There is a monthly unit audit, and two-monthly journal club attended by all members of the unit. In addition to these there is a weekly Head and Neck Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDM), fortnightly Skin Cancer MDM, regular case presentations and journal clubs with both the skin cancer and head & neck multidisciplinary services.
On call is divided between the registrars. Teaching time is timetabled and there is the opportunity of spending time observing and assisting at other local hospitals

The successful applicants will also assist in general reporting and participate in the roster for after-hours, on-call and recall by the unit.
