In secondary schools across Victoria, students are contemplating their future careers directions. With so many possibilities before them, it's an exciting and sometimes daunting time.
We have created PICK VIC to help provide detailed information about the range of careers on offer with the Victorian Government.
As one of the largest employers in the state, the Victorian Government covers almost every type of job you can imagine. Engineers, scientists, planners, project managers, social workers, corrections officers, policy makers, apprentices and gardeners are just a few of the 200 plus occupations that are available. We offer the opportunity to grow your career in a postive and supportive environment, with excellent training and development and a structured career path.
There are a number of ways to start a career with us. School leavers can come directly to work for us or start their careers by joining a Traineeship or an Apprenticeship scheme offered by one of the departments. We also encourage graduates to join the Victorian Government's Graduate Recruitment and Development (GRAD) Scheme after they have successfully completed their tertiary education.
